The “Icon Design for Accessibility and Inclusiveness” workshop aims to understand the concept of accessibility and its requirements, to be able to understand the lack of representation of an icon’s accessibility, to develop a critical perspective regarding how inclusive an icon can be, and to produce alternative designs following these important steps. The workshop will focus on identifying the concepts that are necessary for accessibility and explore the possibilities for icon design with sketches as well as the process of designing original icon alternatives. It will be possible to both design icons using paper-pencils and/or with computers with the materials provided.
